ROOTS

Well, Storry and me know each other since Kindergarten. And I might say we are best friends 'till then. We grew up in the 80s, in a small village of about 3000 people. Very small! We started listening to music together and went through all the stuff: the Beatles, Elvis, then Chart-stuff, especially Samantha Fox (I still dream of a Samantha Fox-Coverband! Who's with me? Let me know!).
And one day there was Accept and AC/DC, that should change our way of thinking and living and listening to music completely.
Very fast we decided to have a rock'n'roll-band and get famous. At the age of 13 we bought some cheap guitars packaged with a small amp, a cable and a guitarbook. Soon "ITCH", our first band was born.

CHANGES

But the more we grew up the harder the sound we listened to became. And in the same year some guys from the neighbour-village founded a band called "Riot's Eve" where  a boy called David played guitar. It must have been the same year when this David joined Storry's class for some reason. You can image that all the metalheads were soon united.
As friends. Not as band. It have always been two bands. But most of the time we shared the same rehearsal room and the stages.
Storry and me made "Thrashure",for some Metal-reasons, changed to "Trashure", and when my hardcore-heavy metal-time was over (Storry's still is not!) I wanted it to be more funny and punky. Of course some guys called the Ramones were to blame! A friend gave us a tape with the Cult on one side and the Ramones on the other side. And I was sick of all these endless solies and stuff. It was perfect!  My private punk should start then!
Some line-up changes and this influence made us become "Skunk" what has been turned to "Machoskunk" one day.
David's band also changed the names. I personally can remember "best b.for end", "G-Saz" and "Peng".
All over this time there was a band calles "Rockabella and the Giddy-ups" in town playing old-style Rock'n'Roll. Ferdinand, the drummer played while standing. Always a great show!
The town I'm talking of is Ingolstadt, about 10 miles away from our village. Well it's a city, but no big city. And, you know, in the misty scene, in the city of "Frankenstein" and "Illuminati", in the spooky night-clubs and bars, those dark places called "Engelwirt" and "Babalu" for example, where local musicians hang around, or some great-grandchildren of the monster, you quickly get to know each other.
So there was time passing by, and songs passing by, and musicians passing by. And every line-up change made me think of having a complete new thing going, new guys, new songs, new names.
When the  drummer of "Machoskunk" decided to move to Spain and the guitarist decided to play with some turntables from now on we called it "Perpetuum Mobile". And we needed another guitarist. Guess who! Yes, David. And one of our former drummers was recruted.
At that time Ferdinand was already playing in another friend-band of us called "Cycodad". That really was our direction of music!
So, in the end, or for the start, it didn't work out. Not "Perpetuum Mobile", not "Cycodad".

UNION

You know, there are so many reasons for breaking up relationships.
It is always hard when you have put a lot of hope, time, love, desire, work and last but not least money in something. But...?!
And then you burry it. And start again. Because you can't stop.
So, there was Storry and me and this guy called Ferdinand who's been with us to several concerts, festivals and garden-parties. What I try to say is: he was a very, very close friend then (and still is!).
And there was only one way to go. The Popstar Killers' way!
We united our forces , wrote new songs and played. And when we were sure that we were really in need of a second guitarist there was David.
We practiced, we wrote, we trained, we played... and went to a studio to record that stuff. And here we are!

And that's why it took us so long!

Sorry!,
